In this project, I was tasked to create a commerical store front for the brand, Alkimia Fragrances. Alkimia was founded during COVID, with an aim of reminding people of the exciting scents of the Florentine night life. They created five distingushed home fragrances that were inspired by noteworthy cocktails.
Their fragrance line included: Negroni, Spritz, Bellini, Moscow Mule, and Mojito. For this design, I was inpsired by the concept: Aura; The distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing or place.
I wanted to find a way to visually represent the Aura of each fragrance, which was accomplished by creating modular glass frames, finished in the colours of the Alkimia products.

Below, you can see the different fragrance bottles which inspired the colour palette and overall design. The glass bottles tie into the glass arches that embellish the main display area seen in the render below.
Part of the project was to create an element that could be easily replicated in different store layouts and spaces. This was because our client was interested in the idea of opening many Alkimia stores. For this project, I designed these modular glass arches, which could easily be implemented in different spaces, and creates a distinct design that boosts brand identity.
Below, you can see how the glass arches were modelled and rendered in SketchUp and VRay. To keep the layout of the space open, I modified the design of the arches, so that some of the vertical sections went into the wall. This created a sense of continuity, which also lent itself to the Aura concept.
Part of the client's needs was to have an area of testing the fragrances. I created a more private testing area at the back of the store, which is perfect for meeting other corporate clients and having staff meetings, for example. The stools under the table were inspired by the Alkimia logo, which added another custom element to the design.
