For this school project, we were tasked with designing an entire apartment space for a work-at-home client. I choose my mom, who is a professional Virtual Therapist.
Project Details:
Project Location: Florence, Italy
Area: 45.48 meters squared
Client: Virtual Therapist
Supervised by: Prof. Arch. J. Andrés Flores Centeno
Year: 2022
The client required a space that was clean and easy to manage, and open to the rest of the living space for easy entertaining. The kitchen was grounded by adding dark finishes like walnut and black-stained oak. This was contrasted with the use of white marble countertops. Furthermore, to save costs in the flooring, grès was used in a white marble finish.
The design was focused on using very clean lines, emphasised by its modern finishes. The main feature in the design is the custom stairs, which are finished in walnut, with each step lit, adding a touch of elegance. The linear nature of the stairs are matched nicely with the modern chandelier, that emphasises the double-height ceilings.
